Jillian's recipe for Creamed Corn

· Tell Grandpa you want him to plant a garden.
· He plants 4 packages of Corn!!!
· Tell him to pick 6 ears
· Tell him to husk the six ears
· You boil them for 3 minutes
· Cut the kernels off the cob taking off only 3/16th inch off the top of kernels
· Rub cob with edge of knife to get all the rest of the mushy stuff off cob
· Pack into 1 quart zip-lock bag
· Take down stairs to freezer

Repeat this 100 times and you will have lots of cream corn to share with everyone in the family

Grandpa's garden

This was what we faced upon arriving home from Branson. I just spent about 9 hours on the corn and beans. We also had ripe Watermelons, and very large cabbages. I just received a recipe to freeze Cole-slaw and I will try that out tomorrow.

Optical Illusion

This Video was taken on the way back from Wichita. We had just turned west onto I-70 and there were hundreds of windmills. After awhile I turned on the camera and began filming. Tonight, I just downloaded the video and noticed that at the end of the film the rails are going backwards. Hmmm
Please notice how quiet Caleb and Nathanial are. They were visiting in the back seat. I don’t think Michele believed us when we said they were perfect children all the way (14 hours) from Branson, Missouri. This is the proof that they were little angels.

Heading home

We went to Pierce Arrow this afternoon. It was comedy and singing. Then we ate at McDonalds and went to evening worship at a tiny congregation here at Branson. The preachers name is Jerry Allen North.
Jerry and I took Caleb and Nathanial to the Club House tonight with 4 quarters. I bought skittles out of the vending machine and sat and listened to some old country western music Jamming. When the Skittles were gone, I brought the boys back to the apartment. Jerry went back over and the boys are watching TV. Casey and Michele are celebrating their anniversary by trying to go to a movie.
We are packing up early in the morning and will be bringing Nathanial and Caleb home with us. Casey and the rest will be finishing up at Wichita and head for Alliance sometime on Thursday or maybe Friday.

Megan and Chace

On the way to breakfast I took this picture of Megan's new hat and shirt. I told her I wanted a picture and she put her arm around Chace. Awwww

Grandma's done with coffee and up to no-good

Wednesday morning: I forgot to mention yesterday that Casey and Michele got lost after turning into Branson. Almost everyone does, so don't be surprised when it happens to you. The funny part of Branson is that it's a big circle around the town with one highway that cuts the circle in half east and west. You can drive all day around the circle and get know where.

Today, we are going to try to hit two shows. Maybe only one unless someone actually wakes up. They usually have shows at 10-3-5 and 7. We will go to bible class tonight at the little congregation here.

I took the kids to the club house yesterday morning. Over there is an indoor pool. There also is an outdoor one, but I don't do sun. We played Ping- pong. Nathanial and Caleb did great. Actually Caleb did better than Nate. We played checkers on big rugs with 4" checkers. Nathanial did fine, Caleb never got the concept. He just wanted KINGS.

There is an exercise room with a big weight contraption and a couple tread mills.

In our suite is two bedrooms. One has a whirlpool for one person and the other has a two or three person one. The beds are king size and then we have two hida beds and 4 flat screen tv's. No squabbling over who watches what.

We have 1/2 of the unit this time. We can get 1 full unit but we need more people to use that much. this one has two full kitchens with tables. I think I will take another video of the inside sometime when I get a chance.

Nathanial thought one of the safes was a CD player and was pushing buttons to get it to work. I feel sorry for the next people that can't get the safe to work.

Sorry about the no-exciting video. But I guess when you are from Nebraska, trees could be very exciting.

Hey, the troops are up. We may go to Starvin' Marvins for breakfast. See you later.

Big swing and Train ride

This is a big swing that all rode on except Grandma and Grandpa. The train was the last thing we rode at 8:30. It was dark. The ride usually has a train robbery, but they said that after dark the robbers don't have enough light. LOL
The steam engine was converted to run on #2 diesel and was real. The train had 4 cars and it went all around the whole town. He showed us a new ride that is a secret for 2009. You are supposed to go to Silvercity.com and guess at the clues for next year.
